Hey there and happy Monday (Tuesday or whatever day it is when you’re reading this). I hope you’re ready to kick off another week full of energy, joy and passion. So let’s get to it!
This week I want to talk about self-care in the sense of the things you’re passionate about. What are you passionate about? What gives you joy?
What Makes You Feel Alive?
For me personally it all goes back to movement. On and off for the majority of my life I have always gotten into different forms of exercise. None of which I have felt passionate about – until recently.
Spinning is a new found love of mine and has been playing a major role in my self-care routine. Without fail, I go to a spin class at least three times a week – the way it makes me feel is out of this world.
Energized, powerful and passionate. These classes are some of the hardest workouts I’ve ever done. I feel like I’m going to die while doing them, but come out feeling more alive than I’ve ever felt.
This token of self-care is what works for me, but I want to help you find what works for you. Think about what your current self-care routine is. Narrow down three things that you couldn’t go without. Is it reading, a face mask or walking the dog? Anything.
Out of those three things – dive a little deeper into each of them and find the one that sticks out the most. Read a little bit longer or more often – give yourself a facial instead of just a face mask – take the dog for a longer walk or try out new paths. What makes you come alive?
Take Care Of You
If you don’t currently have anything in your routine that makes you feel this way, now’s the time to find it! Start to try out different hobbies and figure out what works for you. Find the very thing that makes you feel calm in the moment yet completely energized when done.
Whatever your passion may be – cater it to you. Self-care is all about the self (a.k.a. you). Enjoy your me time and always make time for you.
